We rode through hail twice and 40 degree rain for over an hour. But holy shit were the views worth it.

Awesome! Isn’t i t really something?
The roads in and around Yellowstone are great for riding/ driving and I wished I had rented a much better car when we went back in late spring this year. Weather is c razy unpredictable though.
Old faithful lodge is where we stayed in YS . Perfect location and view. This was taken from the patio there

I don’t want to leave! But we have so much further to go and so much more to see. It's great on the bike, but traffic was thick so we couldn't really get going. Plus, wildlife, so we wouldn't want to go too fast. But still amazing.

Was there on family vacation decades ago!
What ~12 yr old me remembers most is “ Tetons” means boobs. Yes, the highest peak of the mountains, Grand Teton, means...

Haha small world! I’m also in the Tetons this weekend. Wedding in Jackson. Didn’t have time to make it up to Yellowstone, so I’m totally jealous. Definitely have to make it back for that! I did see 3 moose in the wild though at least, although I didn’t get any pictures of those.
It was raining when I actually went to Teton so pictures were pretty trash there but it was still absolutely beautiful.

There was a tribe in the area named the Teton Sioux. Teton meaning “people of the plains”. The mountains were most likely named after them. Europeans being Europeans, “the big tit” story was popularized over the name of the indigenous tribe.

And I’m down in Salt Lake today. It’s easy to eat up a ton of miles put here with 80mph speed limits. And there’s so much to see everywhere. It’s so different from anywhere I’ve been for sure. I’m rocking a mini van from enterprise but at least it’s comfy as hell. Do miss my STi though on the more interesting mountain roads.

For sure. We did 500 very scenic miles today. Wind river canyon and big horn national forest, all the way over to Sturgis.
